Layette Kits Needed

The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) warehouse needs about 67,000 kits to get their inventory back to the level necessary to provide basic supplies for infants in places where life has been disrupted by war or natural disaster. The Outreach Committee is collecting kits in the narthex on May 18.

Layette Kit

6 cloth diapers
2 shirts or 2 one-piece body suits
2 baby washcloths
 2 gowns or sleepers
2 diaper pins (the kind with plastic on one end)
1 sweater open in the front
2 receiving blankets
$3.00 for shipping

Bundle the items inside one of the receiving blankets and secure with the diaper pins. We will also accept supplies in bulk instead of complete kits.
All items must be new. UMCOR will not allow any substitutions.

Tool Tree

We are in need of several tools to complete toolboxes for the summer Youth Mission Trips. If you can help, please take a hammer from the Tool Tree located outside of Chris’ office, obtain the item listed on the hammer, and place it in the box below the tree (or hand deliver to Cindy Bacon or Chris Johnson) no later than Sunday, June 1st. Used tools are fine as long as they are in good, working condition. If you have questions, please call Cindy Bacon at 817-431-0252. Thank you for your support!!

Sunday school classes for adults and children meet year round. Now is a great time to join a class.

Wesley Class Open House: If you are an adult looking for a Sunday school class, join us on Sunday, May 18 at 9:30 AM in room 205 of the Family Life Center for refreshments and fellowship.

S.T.A.R.T. Parent Group: We meet the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month to discuss the book “Parent’s Guide to the Spiritual Mentoring of Teens.” Stop by at 9:30 or 11:00 in the Hallelujah Center.

Summer Theatre Workshop 2008

Auditions for “Alice in Wonderland”:
Grades 7-12*: Friday, May 30, 7-9 PM
Grades 2-6*: Saturday, May 31, 10 AM to Noon

Fee: $65 per child, made payable to FUMC Keller, due at the audition.

Come prepared to sing a song of your choosing without accompaniment and prepare a brief (no more than 2 min.) monologue. All who audition will have a part in the play. The 3-week workshop begins July 28. Performance dates are August 14, 15, and 16.

Singles Ministry Meeting on May 14 at 6:30 PM

Youth News You Can Use!

Graduates! We will be hosting our Graduation Breakfast May 25th at 8:15 in the FLC. We will also recognize you in the 9:30 and 11:00 services that morning and present you with a gift. Please RSVP to chrisj@kellerumc.org for the breakfast.

Breakfast and Mountasia PlayDay is Saturday May 31st. We will meet early in the morning and have a morning and afternoon of fun. The cost is $30 and includes a breakfast buffet at Golden Corral, unlimited outdoor games at Putt Putt and 20 tokens. We will meet at 6:00 AM at the church and will return to the church around 12:30 PM. See you then!

This event is a fundraiser for our Youth Mission Trip to Arkansas in June 2008. We are small church trying to do a large task! We have committed to sending our youth on CTC Mission Trip to Arkansas. We need your prayers, thoughts, and gifts. We want you to come and share our joy with us! Dr. Janice Kreitner-Cain will be playing an organ concert on our new organ at 3:00 PM. After the concert, we will all join together for a spaghetti dinner, sponsored by the women of the church.
