Alzheimer's Support
Group
The purpose of this monthly group is to
offer emotional support, information, and
resources to caregivers, relatives, and friends
whose loved ones have Alzheimer’s disease or a
related dementias. This is one of several groups
offered by the North Central Texas Chapter of
the Alzheimer’s Association. At FUMC of Keller,
the group meets on the 2nd Sunday of every month
at from 2pm to 3:30pm in the Hallelujah Center.

Book Club
The Book Club is a small group that meets
monthly to enjoy fellowship and discussion of a
book chosen by the group. Group leader: Mary
Danz, 817-337-4640.
Circle of Friends
Circle of Friends is a women’s group that meets
the last Tuesday of each month and focuses on missions and ministries
of the church. Light supper and childcare are
provided at each meeting. This group also hosts
the annual Dessert Extravaganza – a night of
delicious indulgence in which desserts are
auctioned with the proceeds benefiting church
ministries or other missions. Group leaders:

Disciple
Disciple is a 34-week program of disciplined
Bible study offered during the school year aimed
at developing strong Christian leaders.
Emmaus
The Walk to Emmaus is a spiritual renewal
program intended to strengthen the local church
through the development of Christian disciples
and leaders. The program's approach seriously
considers the model of Christ's servanthood and
encourages Christ's disciples to act in ways
appropriate to being "a servant of all."

members to meet the people of the church and
find out the various opportunities to get

Kairos
The mission is to bring Christ's love and
forgiveness to incarcerated individuals, their
families and those who work with them.
Prayer Covering Ministry

Members of our congregation create quilts,
blankets, and shawls that are given to those
going through difficult times such as grief or

Small-Group Bible Studies
Small-group Bible studies are held throughout
the year. These 6-8 week studies are held on
weeknights and/or weekday mornings and focus on
various topics.
Stephen
Ministry —

Stephen
Ministry provides trained volunteers who support
and encourage individuals experiencing a life
crisis such as the death of a loved one, separation
or divorce, job loss, illness, etc. A Stephen
Minister meets regularly with the person and gives
distinctively Christian care until the crisis
subsides.
Sunday School
Small groups are an integral part of growing in
faith as you continue on your walk with Christ.
We offer classes of all age groups and sizes.
United Methodist Men
The purpose of United Methodist Men is to
declare the centrality of Christ in the lives of
men and in all their relationships. The men work
with local groups and other district
organizations in developing programs to meet the
needs and interests of men of all ages. This
group also hosts the annual Neil Herbert Golf
Tournament with proceeds benefiting various

United Methodist Women

Wednesday Night Life
Wednesday nights begin with a time of food and
fellowship as a precursor to small group studies
for adults. Classes are designed to help you
grow in faith and build relationships.

Fine Arts
There are
several Youth ensembles to choose from including
the Youth Praise Team, Young Singers, and the
Youth Choir. FUMC Keller is dedicated to making Christ
better known through all of the worship arts.
BASIC (Brothers And Sisters In Christ)
BASIC is open to high school and middle school
students on Sunday nights from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
The group meets in the Family Life Center for
fellowship, fun, food, and biblical application.
Deep DISH (Deep Discussion in Someone’s
House)
Deep DISH small groups are organized and led by
students and meet in homes throughout the week.
The goal is to provide accountability and
spiritual growth as students confront the
challenges of life with the light of the gospel
message. Groups are available for middle school
students and for high school girls and guys.
Times and days vary.
Fall Mystery Trip
Fall Mystery trips have taken our youth rock
climbing and rappelling in Oklahoma, wild caving
in South Texas, gallivanting on Lake Whitney,
and competing in an Amazing Race around
Dallas/Fort Worth. You never know where they
might end up!
Family Reunion
Youth groups from local churches of all
denominations come together for a time of
fellowship, food, big inflatable games, praise
and worship, music, and fun! This event is
strictly evangelical and students are encouraged
to bring unchurched friends.
Progressive Dinner and Road Rally
An element of sport adds flavor to a traditional
progressive dinner! Teams compete to locate the
answers to clues all along the path of the
progressive dinner.
Senior High Ski Trip
Each spring, senior high students head to
Colorado for three days of skiing. The students
have visited various ski areas such as Winter
Park and Wolf Creek and always have a blast in
the snow.
Starbucks® Study Groups
The last Wednesday of each semester, students
head to Starbucks® to study for their final
exams. It is a great way to enjoy fellowship and
good coffee and still get ready for tests!
Summer Missions
We participate in the Central Texas Conference
Youth in Mission summer mission program. An
out-of-state senior high trip in June and an
in-state middle school trip in July allow
students to share the gospel and serve as
Christ’s hands and feet to people in need by
doing tasks such as repair work, building
wheelchair ramps, roofing, lawn maintenance and
much more.
Sunday Small Groups Sunday
Small Groups meet Sunday morning in the Youth
House. These groups follow the Student Life
Bible Study six-year curriculum in which
students seriously consider what the Bible has
to teach us about our faith and our relationship
with God through Christ.
Wednesday Play Days
Throughout the summer the youth take various day
trips for activities like paintball, rock
climbing, bowling, laser tag, movies, geocaching,
and much more.
Youth Sunday
One Sunday a year our youth lead each of the
three Sunday morning worship services. The
students do everything: praise and worship,
hymns and music, sermons, scripture reading,
prayers, ushering, and the invitation. This is
an awesome opportunity for these students to
show how God is using them in amazing ways!

Ministries
Acolytes
Children in grades four through six serve in
traditional worship services by bringing light
into the services, assisting with offering
plates, helping the pastors, and extinguishing
the candles at the end of the service.
Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts
Troops and Packs meet in Keller FUMC facilities.
Building
Blocks — Evon Bair
Two- and three-day programs are offered for three
and four year olds as well as a private four-day
kindergarten. All classes meet in the Family
Life Center. Building Blocks is well known for
its caring Christian atmosphere and hands-on
learning experience dedicated to the growth and
development of the whole child.
Children’s Church
Children age three through first grade have the
opportunity to attend worship with their family
for the first 20 minutes of the 9:30 and 11:00
services before going to a classroom for Bible
lessons and activities.
Christmas Pageant
Every December, the children of our congregation
and community come together to tell the story of
Jesus' birth through drama and music.
Confirmation
Sixth graders work through a nine-month program
of "Claiming the Name" of Jesus Christ to
prepare them for affirming Christ as their
Savior and becoming full members of the United
Methodist Church.
Easter Eggstravaganza
A family Easter celebration at the Hallelujah
Center. Fellowship, food, crafts, egg hunts, and
the Easter story told by one of our pastors are
all part of the fun!
Glen Lake Camp
Glen Lake Camp and Retreat Center offers summer
and weekend camps for children in second grade
and up. Their mission is to promote the
threefold spiritual, mental, and physical
development of young persons and adults as
Christians.
5th & 6th Grade Fellowship
A Bible study and fellowship
opportunity for fifth and sixth graders. They
meet one Sunday per month during the school
year.
Kids’ Klub
Various classes are offered such as arts and
crafts, sports, and dance. Kids’ Klub runs
concurrently with Wednesday Night Life adult
small groups in the Family Life Center.
Kindergarten Bible Presentation
Bibles are presented yearly to our
kindergarteners and those older children who do
not have Bibles. Children are encouraged to
bring their Bibles to Sunday School and to use
them in daily life.
Moms and Tots
A supportive small group for moms and a fun
playgroup for kids! On the first Friday of the
month, fun activities are planned for the kids
including bounce houses, arts and crafts, games,
and snacks. The third Friday of the month is a
structured study just for moms (childcare
provided).
Nursery
Our nurturing and caring nursery is available
during all three worship services and all
church-sponsored events. The infant (0-12month)
and two year old nurseries are located across
from the church office. Our baby nursery
(12-24months) is located in room 209 along the
top right side of the Family Life Center.

Live B.I.G. Sunday School—9:30 and 11:00
Classes offered for Pre-K–5th grade. Live B.I.G.
helps children see, hear and live their Belief
In God. Short videos bring faith-filled,
high-energy excitement with characters who model
B.I.G. behavior, Travel segments featuring B.I.G.
ministries by everyday B.I.G. people, and Cool
music.
Summer Theater Workshop July 28 - August 16,
2008
A 3-week drama camp that gives children and
youth the opportunity for Bible study, acting,
singing, publicity and set preparation. The camp
concludes with performances open to the
community.
Trunk or Treat
This night of family fun includes a costume
contest, trick or treating (out of car trunks),
games, food, and more!
Vacation Bible School June 23 - 26, 2008
A fun-filled week in the summer for kids age
kindergarten through sixth grade. Through fun
and adventure, children discover and experience
the joy in knowing God and His immeasurable love
for them.

Dr. David Gerig, Director of Worship and
Music Celebration Ringers Bell Choir An English handbell choir that provides worship
music in the traditional worship services.
Membership is by permission of the Director of
Music and positions are filled on an “as-needed”
basis. Rehearsals are each Thursday at 6:00 p.m.
Chancel Choir The Chancel Choir is open to all adults and
youth who love to sing and lead worship in the
8:15 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. traditional worship
services. Both traditional and contemporary
choral literature is presented. Rehearsals are
each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
Children's Choir Rainbow Choir: K-2nd Grade Promise Choir: Grades 3-6.
Tamara
Masters, Director The choir sings at all
three worship services on a monthly basis and is
open to all children, kindergarten through 6th
grade. This choir sings music that is age
appropriate and rehearsals include fun
activities to interest all who attend.
Rehearsals are on Wednesdays at 4:30 p.m. in the
Music Room during the school year.
First Flutes First Flutes is a flute ensemble that supports
worship with special music on a regular basis.
Participation is based on the approval of the
director, Helen Garrett. Rehearsals are planned as
needed.
Praise Team The Praise Team leads worship in the 9:30 a.m.
contemporary worship each week. Positions on the
Praise Team are with approval of the Praise and
Worship Leader,
Kallie Ritchey and filled on an “as-needed” basis.
Rehearsals are on Thursdays at 7:00 p.m.
Sound and Video Team The Sound
and Video Team is a vital part of worship.
Members are chosen and trained based on aptitude
and interest in supporting worship for each
service and special events.
Spotlight Ministries
Spotlight Ministries provides dramatic arts
opportunities for worship and special
presentations. This ministry leads a Summer
Theater Workshop for children and youth as well
as produces plays and skits for worship and
special events. Each production is cast through
audition as announced. Rehearsals are scheduled
as needed for each production.
Wind Ensemble
The Wind Ensemble is comprised of youth and
adults that have experience playing wind
instruments and would like to offer their gifts
to the congregation though instrumental music.
The Wind Ensemble plays regularly at the
traditional worship services and for special
presentations. Rehearsals are on Thursdays at
7:00 p.m. Owen Phillips and Bob Whetson,
directors.
Youth Praise Team The Youth Praise Team leads worship at the youth
worship service on Sunday evenings and is open
to youth in grades 7 through 12. All singers are
welcome. Band members are selected on an
"as-needed" basis by audition. Rehearsals are on
Sundays at 4:00 p.m.

Ministries and Missions Arlington Life Shelter
Sack lunches are prepared and delivered to the
Arlington Life Shelter to be distributed to the
homeless.
The Community Storehouse
The Community Storehouse is a nonprofit
organization that supports local families in
times of need and crisis. Our congregation
collects nonperishable food and supplies on a
monthly basis.
Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, ecumenical
Christian organization dedicated to eliminating
substandard housing and homelessness worldwide
and to making adequate, affordable shelter a
matter of conscience and action. Our
congregation is actively involved in building a
Habitat house each fall.
Heifer Project
Each Sunday children bring their spare change to
church for the Heifer Project which provides
farm animals for families world-wide.
Natural Disaster Relief
Our congregation provides financial support and
sends materials to the United Methodist
Committee on Relief (UMCOR). After the hurricane
disasters of 2005, clothing, furniture and
supplies were donated, and we partnered with
area churches to provide meals for evacuees in
Keller. A mission team visited southeast Texas
to help clean up and rebuild.
International Mission Teams
Each year at least one adult/youth mission team
is sent to places such as Slovakia, Mexico,
Kenya, Venezuela and Israel/Palestine. A
highlight of our international mission work is
an ongoing relationship with the Methodist
congregation in Trnava, Slovakia. During our
six-year partnership we have exchanged youth and
adult teams, shared prayer concerns, and made
life-long friendships.
Mission Gifts for Christmas
An annual outreach program where persons make
donations to selected charities in honor of
friends and family. Shoebox Ministry An annual
outreach program that sends Christmas gifts to
children around the world.
Operation Christmas Child
An annual outreach program, also known as
"Shoebox Ministry," that sends Christmas gifts
to children around the world.
