Children Ministries
Nursery

Our nurturing and caring nursery is available during all three worship services and all church-sponsored events. The infant (0-12month) and two year old nurseries are located across from the church office. Our baby nursery (12-24months) is located in room 209 along the top right side of the Family Life Center. The three nurseries will only be used on Sunday mornings during the 9:30am and 11:00am services. For weekly activities the regular rooms will be used. My hope is for those of you that have little ones to feel more comfortable leaving your precious babies with us. We know how important it is for parents to have a time to worship God without having to worry about their babies, and we want to provide that opportunity to you. Your babies will be in a loving and God sharing environment.

I am always open for questions, suggestions or concerns, never hesitate to contact me. 817-845-3036 or tanyat@kellerumc.org.

Things to Do and Not to Do
Because our nursery is growing there are a few things that we need parents to do for us.
1. Please label ALL items. This includes diaper bags, sippy cups, bottles, pacifiers, and any other items being brought in to the nursery.
2. Please bring a bottle or a sippy cup for your child. We have a few extra on hand, but would prefer for the children to use their own.
3. We have apple juice and/or white grape juice. If you prefer your child to have something different please put it in their cup/bottle. Please do not send red or purple colored drinks.
4. We have goldfish and animal crackers for snack. You are welcome to bring your child’s favorite snack; however, NO PEANUT PRODUCTS!!!
5. Please bring an extra change of clothes for your child and extra diapers or pull ups.
6. Sign your child in and out, take a pager and make sure you turn it on. Let the nursery attendants know of any special needs.
7. Only the parent or legal guardian should drop off and pick up the children. The child will not be released to an older sibling.
8. Little ones being left for the first few times may be shy or scared. It is very normal for them to cry. You are welcome to come in for a few minutes and help your child to feel more comfortable. Tell your child you will be right back, but do not prolong your goodbyes. Most children settle down within a few minutes and begin playing. If your child does not settle down within 10 to 20 minutes, we will page you.
Health Guidelines
The nursery must handle illness in such a manner to protect the health of all children in the nursery. The nursery will follow the recommendation of the Texas Department of Health concerning the admission or readmission of any child after a communicable disease.
1. Do not bring a child who has had a fever (over 100 degrees rectal), diarrhea, a skin rash, vomiting, or experienced major physical discomfort within the last 24 hours.
2. Do not bring a child with a discolored, runny nose. A clear runny nose is fine, but any other color (green, white, etc.) is not.
3. Do not bring a child with a bronchial or deep chest cough.
4. Do not bring a child with a red eye also known as pink eye.
5. Do not bring a child with a communicable disease such as chicken pox.
6. The nursery attendants reserve the right to question the health of a child and refuse admittance.
7. The nursery staff may not administer medicine of any kind.

All nursery staff members are Safe Sanctuary certified.
